Ansty
A small village about nine miles south of Sturminster Newton and the same distance west of Blandford.
Ansty was the home of the Hall & Woodhouse brewery founded in 1777 before moving to Blandford Forum. There are spectacular views on top of nearby Bulbarrow Hill which was a radar station during the second world war. It is Dorset,s second highest point at 902 feet. Excellent walks nearby. The village has a pub-The Fox which has a number of rooms to let and serves lunches and evening meals. There is also an excellent shop and Post Office in the village as well as a village hall. Transport Bus route. Nearest rail station Dorchester 12 miles.
Our view. Lovely Dorset Village where houses are sold by word of mouth. Some really beautiful cottages strung out along the narrow roads. Expect to pay a premium.
